A Simple Idea Born During Cancer Treatment

My Countdown Friend teddy bear with ribbons

Chrissy was undergoing chemotherapy when she was given a stuffed companion with one removable ribbon for each of her planned treatments.

After each treatment, she returned home and removed another ribbon. She said the ritual helped her and that she looked forward to removing the next one.

“I couldn't wait to get home from chemotherapy so I could remove another one.” — Chrissy

Chrissy said that removing each ribbon gave her a way to recognize another step she had taken in her fight against cancer and provided a visual representation of the progress she was making.

That experience became the idea behind My Countdown Friend.

My Countdown Friend provides a visual representation of movement through the scheduled treatment process. Each ribbon represents one scheduled chemotherapy or radiation treatment. After a treatment is completed, one ribbon is removed, allowing the changing number of ribbons to reflect the progress being made along the way.

Your determination keeps you moving forward. Your treatment does the medical work. My Countdown Friend helps you recognize each step you've taken by providing a visual representation of your progress.

Visible Progress

Each removed ribbon represents another completed treatment and helps make the progress being made visible.

A Meaningful Ritual

After each treatment, removing one ribbon provides a simple, personal way to recognize another step forward.

A Lasting Reminder

After the final ribbon is removed, the Countdown Friend remains as a reminder of the determination, perseverance, and progress that were part of the treatment journey.
